Jacqueline Calmese, or NISHVWN, a visual artist from Maryland showcases her artworks of distressed expressions in different types of animals. Her interest in God’s creatures, painting and sketching as well as past life experiences  leads her to create dark emotion portraits of animals. Inspired by her abundant of childhood pets, most of her original works are portraits of rabbits. She uses mediums such as ink pens, digital software, and acrylic paints in her artworks to achieve the eerie appearance of  rabbit faces and the details of their fur. Her paintings are done on colossal canvas pieces that she then list for sale as prints under her brand ‘The Jax Rabbit’.

Being the founder of ‘The Jax Rabbit’ allows her to make her artwork perceived on a professional level in successes to have her paintings in more galleries and museums. With most works being showcased in county museums of her home town, she has organized her own brand into an online art gallery with her artworks and other products with her designs. Though her art pieces convey a depressive perception, she uses this to share the somber and ballistic parts of her state of mind as a creative outlet to overcoming negative emotions and situations throughout her career and lifetime.
